Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow has quite an interesting proposal that could help solve some of the league’s problems regarding turf conditions throughout the NFL, and his plan seems to have the NFL world buzzing.
During a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Joe Burrow threw out the idea that if the NFL is unwilling to move to natural grass playing surfaces across the league for player safety, the league should consider making a uniform standard for artificial turf fields across the entire NFL.
“I think the last couple of years, studies have come out how much safer grass fields are. So I think that’s important,” Burrow said according to Pro Football Talk. “I think the most important thing is having a standard for the turf fields, having each turf field across the league have a standard, and all of them are the same. Everywhere you go that has turf, each turf is different. I think having uniformity across the league would be best.”
It’s an interesting plan from the Bengals star, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.
If one team installs turf in 2023, but a better turf comes along in 2024 that another team installs, is the first team required to upgrade? That's not going to happen.
Maybe a time limit on turf refresh, though.

We’ll have to see whether or not this is something the NFL would consider doing.
