The Baltimore Ravens just ended a lengthy contract dispute with star quarterback Lamar Jackson this offseason. But unfortunately for them, it appears that they might now have to deal with another contract issue with another one of their star players on offense.
Star running back J.K. Dobbins reported to the team’s mandatory minicamp last month to avoid hefty fines, but he has not actually participated in Baltimore Ravens practices. And this week, teammate Melvin Gordon seemed to confirm that Dobbins was indeed sitting out from practice as he seeks a new contract from the team.
“I didn’t even know he’s sitting out, but J.K. is sitting out,” Gordon said during an interview with Kyle Goon of The Baltimore Banner, according to Pro Football Talk. “They’re not even making a big headline out of it, unless you’re in Indy [where Jonathan Taylor is sitting out], I guess. And they got other players sitting out. I didn’t even know J.K. was sitting out until I came here.”
It’s a pretty brutal situation for the Baltimore Ravens as one of their top players is making himself unavailable, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
We’ll have to see how the Ravens handle this situation.
