The Jimmy Garoppolo experience has taken a bit of a turn for the New England Patriots.
During Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Garoppolo was knocked to the ground on a sack by the Dolphins’ Kiko Alonso. The hit ended up sending Garoppolo to the locker room with a shoulder injury and ultimately ended his day.
Prior to the injury, Garoppolo was having a heck of a day. The New England fill-in went 18-for-27 for 234 yards and three touchdowns.
With the Patriots already missing Brady, the quarterback situation got a little more dicey for New England. Jacoby Brissett, who was taken in the third round of this year’s draft, went under center for the Patriots. Julian Edelman was reportedly the emergency quarterback in the situation that Brissett gets hurt too.
But it seems that no matter the quarterback, it was just fine for New England. Despite a late game comeback by the Dolphins, Brissett went 6 for 9 and threw for 92 yards in the 31-24 victory.
