Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is not interested in participating in the Netflix series “Quarterback.” The series featured Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota.
While the series takes a look into what it is like being a quarterback in the NFL, he has no interest in his life being on display.
“They (the three QBs) love it,” Garoppolo said, according to the Review-Journal. “I think they have a different perspective of what we go through. People just think you go out there on Sunday and start slinging it around. There’s a lot that goes into it. But that’s not for me.”
Jimmy G is not the only one not interested in doing the show. According to reports, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Dak Prescott also turned down the gig for different reasons.
Herbert said he thought he’d be boring to follow. Elsewhere, Lawrence said it’s “just not the right time for me.” Then, Prescott said he gets “enough media.” And last but not least, Hurts even said he turned it down last year, too.
Maybe Garoppolo doesn’t want to be a part of this because he wants to focus on his new team and winning, which is understandable. Not everyone is interested in courting media attention, including Jimmy Garoppolo. So, Netflix will have to turn elsewhere.
