Over the past few weeks, Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh has been the source of a number of NFL coaching rumors with the Denver Broncos reportedly interested in hiring Harbaugh with an absolutely massive contract and the Carolina Panthers also joining the pursuit of Harbaugh. But if you ask Harbaugh himself, he still thinks seems to think he’ll return to Michigan next year.
In a conversation with Queen City News, Jim Harbaugh was asked about the Carolina Panthers head coaching vacancy and he had quite a surprising response, revealing that despite all the rumors, he still believes he’ll be back at Michigan next season.
“Although no one knows the future, I think I will be coaching Michigan next year,” Harbaugh told Queen City News.
This is a pretty shocking response given that there have been multiple reports that if Harbaugh receives an offer from an NFL team, he would leave Michigan to return to the league. However, when those rumors first started to surface last month, Harbaugh firmly insisted that he would be returning to Michigan next season, so his recent comments seem to echo that.
Either way, it’s clear that there will be quite a few twists and turns in this saga before we ultimately figure out what’s going to happen with Harbaugh.
