The New York Jets have a new starting quarterback in Justin Fields. Fields is attempting to prove to the league that he has what it takes to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, after showing flashes of his potential with the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fields’ road to New York was littered with challenges and frustrations, and now we know some of what’s helped Fields navigate the challenges of his career.
“I’m low-key addicted to getting in my Bible…I learn something new every day and I’m able to apply it in my everyday life,” Fields said on Wednesday.
“I was sleeping on reading the Bible early in my life. I wish I had started earlier.”
Fans reacted to Fields’ statement on social media.
“All this relationship with god and reading the Bible every night like it’s a Harry Potter book just to tear his ACL week 2,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The funny thing, whether you believe it or not, and you read the bible, it changes you completely, for the better. When I first read the bible, I was almost living in the gutter, and afterwards, my life took off immediately far away from that gutter; that was 32 yrs ago,” one fan added.
“He should learn how to read defenses now lol,” another person added.
It’s great to see the positive impact Fields’ faith is having on him.
