Last month, the Indianapolis Colts made the shocking and controversial decision to hire former center Jeff Saturday as their interim head coach, leading to plenty of criticism from a number of prominent analysts and even current NFL coaches. And after five games, it’s safe to say it hasn’t worked out well for them.
The Colts have lost four of their five games with Jeff Saturday at the helm. And those losses have come after some absolutely atrocious fourth-quarter performances.
“The Colts have been outscored 83-9 in the fourth quarter over the last five games,” Erickson said in a Tweet.
It’s definitely a concerning stat for the team as it’s nearly impossible to win games consistently while playing that poorly in the closing quarter. And the NFL world had plenty to say about it.
Well, I mean Jeff Saturday has only been the coach for… well yeah five games. I'm sure he'll turn it around. Always a great decision to hire a man with no experience. https://t.co/RwFHmZnYth

“This defense is overworked and running on fumes,” a Colts analyst said on Twitter.
This same colts team trailed going into the 4th quarter in each other their first 6 games and yet had a 3-2-1 record.
But it’s all Frank Reichs fault Chris Ballard shirt changed him at basically every position on offense. https://t.co/aFc7yp1fFt

“Beyond incredible; shows the coaching staff has no idea how to close games,” Colts analyst Andrew Aziz of Stampede Blue said on Twitter.
To his credit, Saturday has shouldered the blame for the struggles. But that doesn’t make these performances any better.
