Los Angeles Chargers fans feared the worst when cornerback J.C. Jackson went down with a non-contact injury and had to have an air cast on his leg as he was carted off the field.
One day later, those fears were confirmed when head coach Brandon Staley revealed that Jackson will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured patellar tendon.
Jackson’s injury was the first of two key player injuries during the Chargers’ Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks. In the fourth quarter, Mike Williams went down and he will miss multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Jackson was on the first year of a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Chargers. After spending his first four seasons with the New England Patriots, Jackson signed with the Chargers and they had high hopes in him.
Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out as expected as Jackson had to have ankle surgery that forced him to miss the preseason and Week 1. Then on last Monday night, Jackson was benched against the Denver Broncos. This knee injury is another setback but there is time for Jackson to get back and overcome this initial setback.
