During the Cincinnati Bengals win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon, Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase suffered an ankle injury that has left him limited in practice this week. But it doesn’t sound like there’s any doubt that he’ll be available to play in this week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
As a result of his ankle injury, Ja’Marr Chase missed practice entirely on Tuesday and was just a limited participant on Wednesday. But he recently said that he is “100 percent” going to play against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend.
“I’m going,” Chase told reporters according to Bengals beat writer Ben Bay of ESPN.com. “100 percent.”
With Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow sidelined with a season-ending wrist injury, Chase has been important to the Bengals offense as the team adapts to backup quarterback Jake Browning taking over for the team.
In the two full games he’s played with Browning as his quarterback, Chase has 15 catches for 230 yards, averaging 7.5 catches for 115 yards per game.
We’ll have to see if Chase is hampered by his injury at all on Sunday and if he can once again help spark the offense in a crucial game as the team looks to make another postseason run, even without Burrow.
