Horrible charges emerged Monday for a Los Angeles Chargers cornerback.
J.C. Jackson was arrested on Monday in the state of Massachusetts. The Chargers star, who signed with the team in the offseason after playing with the New England Patriots, was booked on charges of what’s considered a “family issue.”
NESN tweeted, “J.C. Jackson was arrested in Massachusetts on Monday.”
The details emerged in the Keagan Stiefel of NESN explained that the Chargers cornerback was booked on a “family issue” but it was considered a non-violent charge.
Boston 25 News reported the former Patriot was arrested and booked at the Bristol County Jail and House of Corrections in Massachusetts on Monday due to a “family issue.”
The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Boston 25 that the family issue is considered non-violent.
The Athletic’s Daniel Popper tweeted a statement from the Chargers on the arrest. The statement, via Popper, read, ” We are aware of media reports this afternoon pertaining to J.C. Jackson. We will continue to gather information on this matter and will refrain from further comment at this time.”
Jackson hasn’t enjoyed much success this season. The All-Pro cornerback signed a deal with L.A. as one of the team’s prized free-agent signings of the offseason. Jackson has been hurt the last few weeks and hasn’t been able to contribute, unfortunately, as the team makes its playoff push.
