The New York Giants had an extremely disappointing game on Monday against the Dallas Cowboys for a multitude of reasons.
Not only did they lose to their division rival, but starting wide receiver Sterling Shepard suffered a gruesome injury late in the fourth quarter of the game.
Shepard suffered a non-contact injury to his left leg on the Giants’ final offensive play of the game and was carted off the field seemingly in a ton of pain while holding his knee.

Anytime a non-contact injury like this occurs it is never a good sign, as that is a tell-tale sign of an ACL injury.
Shepard went through tests on Tuesday following the injury and Giants head coach Brian Daboll has revealed a diagnosis that many feared, which is that Shepard unfortunately has torn his ACL in his left knee.
This is the latest of a horrific string of injuries in the career of Sterling Shepard, who came back this season from a torn Achilles that he suffered last year.
Many have taken to social media to share their disappointment following this news, and wish Shepard a speedy recovery moving forward.
This really sucks. dude just can't catch a break. https://t.co/9I3yGbkUXL

This is the latest in a troubling trend of injuries that have occurred on the turf field at MetLife Stadium. Former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. took to social media to voice his frustrations with the seemingly dangerous turf.
New York was already extremely thin at the wide receiver position with injuries to second-year receiver Kadarious Toney and rookie receiver Wan’Dale Robinson.
This certainly won’t help things, which will likely put even more pressure on running back Saquon Barkley to be the only star in town for the Giants’ offense.
