Firefighters in Orange, Texas spent Thursday trying to put out the fire of former Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens free safety Earl Thomas. While they were able to put the fire out, the house is believed to be a total loss.
According to ABC/NBC affiliate 12 News, firefighters on the scene believe that the house was struck by lightning as there was a lot of lightning in the area, but the fire marshal will have the final call on the cause and will investigate on Friday. Thomas and other family members were unharmed and safe after they left the house when the fire began.
Thomas is currently out on bond after being arrested in May due to a warrant being issued for an alleged violation of a court protective order. Thomas allegedly sent threatening texts to the mother of his child that consisted of, among other horrible things, that he would “poison” her and the child. Thomas was required to download a co-parenting app and communicate through there but he allegedly refuses to download the app.
