Ahead of the 2023 NFL trade deadline, the Philadelphia Eagles made a blockbuster move by acquiring All-Pro safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans.

As it turns out, the defending NFC champs might not be done dealing just yet.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Philadelphia is expected to remain aggressive ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline. In particular, Russini noted that the Eagles will be targeting linebackers on the trade market.

“The Eagles want to make another move even after adding safety and five-time Titans captain Kevin Byard,” Russini wrote. “I expect Howie Roseman to be busy Monday morning. He’s poking around at linebacker.”

While Philadelphia enters its Week 8 matchup against the Washington Commanders sitting in first place of the NFC East at 6-1 and with the second best odds in the NFC and third best overall of winning the Super Bowl, it makes sense that the Eagles would look to upgrade their linebackers. To this point in the season, 2022 third-round pick Nakobe Dean has only appeared in three games due to injuries, while veteran Zach Cunningham has underperformed in seven appearances (six starts).

As for which linebackers might be available, Denver Broncos linebacker Josey Jewell stands out as an obvious candidate as the team enters an apparent rebuild.

After Russini reported that the Eagles plan to remain aggressive, many took to social media to weigh in.
