The NFL world was shocked Wednesday to learn that someone had filed the Miami Dolphins’ entire walk-through practice at the University of Cincinnati ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. However, it turns out that the Dolphins were not only aware of the sneaky film crew but they adjusted accordingly to make sure anything they recorded was useless.
The videos of Miami’s practice were shared on social media on Wednesday.

However, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel was not only aware that people were watching practice but he purposefully kept 12 players on the field in an attempt to disguise what was actually happening.
“The #Dolphins noticed people watching their walkthrough Wednesday in Cincinnati, so they made a sly adjustment: All the clips circulating on Twitter have 12 players on offense,” Pelissero said. “Fake plays? Fake routes on real plays? Either way, Mike McDaniel and company staying one step ahead.”
While NFL reporter Al Butler noted that NFL security was looking into the Dolphins’ practice being filmed, plenty of folks around the NFL world had some thoughts on McDaniels’ strategy to counteract any potential spying or sharing of their game plan.
Of note, Nippert Stadium, where the Dolphins were practicing, is an open public stadium right in the middle of campus. People are always walking through there with a view of the field. https://t.co/Fju1y7ES9S
