Following a setback in his recovery from the Achilles injury that ended his 2024 season, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s status is in jeopardy for the 2025 season. The Browns responded by adding four quarterbacks to the QB room this offseason: Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders.

However, according to one of the Browns’ other quarterbacks, Watson has still been a presence around the organization.

“He’s been a guy I’ve connected with as well, and he’s actually a guy I sit by in our O-line meetings, even in our offensive unit meetings,” Gabriel said, according to Pro Football Talk. “So just being able to be around him and nudge him and ask a question, whether it’s for confirmation or his thought, but also when we’re talking through concepts, I think it’s super cool that we do have five guys in the room that kind of can speak to their own experience and even Deshaun this morning, talking through a concept and kind of how he sees it in the red area. It can change the play in a big way, just how you think of it. So appreciate him a bunch, too. Just sharing all his knowledge.”

Fans reacted to the revelation on social media.

“Browns need to tell him to just stay away,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“If I am the Browns & Haslam I am getting that cancer out of there IMMEDIATELY! Acknowledge you were stupid in signing him to the deal you did, send him home and pay him to stay away!” another fan added.

“What a downfall that loser has had,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Watson ever takes another snap for the Browns.
