Tuesday morning, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson spoke about the accusations against him as part of a minicamp press conference. Now, the attorney for his ever-growing list of accusers has responded.

Watson spoke at length about the growing list of sexual misconduct accusations against him and tried to explain why he thinks he deserves to be believed over the list of 26 women who all tell similar stories.

“I understand that question and I definitely respect it,” Watson said. “… I’ve been honest and I’ve truthful with my stance, I never forced anyone, I never assaulted anyone.

“I understand these allegations are very serious…I’m focused on clearing my name.”

Watson was also asked about the recent New York Times report which found 66 women who were contacted for massages with him in 17 months, far more than he had previously said. He responded by saying he didn’t think that number was correct but felt it was a “legal question” better suited for his attorneys.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the 24 current plaintiffs against Watson, as well as two more that will reportedly soon file, responded to Watson’s press conference and his lack of perceived remorse over the situation.

“Given the volume of the credible cases filed, the lead detective’s sworn testimony, the undisputed facts, and the heartbreak, pain, and havoc Watson has caused, we think it would be appropriate to see Deshaun Watson express some regret or remorse in the way he treated those women.”

Buzbee, also suggested that the Browns quarterback consider “attending some sort of counseling” which “would be at least some step forward.”
