Derrick Henry has taken his game to another level in his fourth NFL season. The running back/monster ran for 211 yards and three touchdowns over 32 carries (6.6 AVG) to lead the Tennessee Titans to a playoff-clinching 35-14 victory over the Houston Texans.
Henry’s 53-yard touchdown run served as a dagger late in the fourth quarter, and gave him the NFL rushing title over the Cleveland Browns’ Nick Chubb. Henry reached 1,540 rushing yards on the season with that run, moving ahead of Chubb’s 1,494 yards.
With Henry’s excellence at running back and Ryan Tannehill’s excellence at quarterback since taking over for Marcus Mariota, the Titans will be a dangerous Wild Card team in the playoffs.
The Titans (6-seed) will take on the New England Patriots (No. 3 seed) next week in Foxborough. The Patriots are very vulnerable right now, with that being proved with a home loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday to blow the opportunity to get a first-round bye.
