Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders after a dangerous and dirty hit on Commanders tight end Logan Thomas to the head and neck area. Many fans were calling for Jackson to be suspended, but it seems like that will not be the case.
Jackson has begun to develop a reputation early on in the season for dangerous hits. A hit on Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers left him with a concussion that held him out for Week 2.
Unfortunately, Thomas suffered the same fate, being ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game with a concussion after taking the dangerous hit.
There is certainly an argument that Jackson should be issued a suspension for this latest hit. But that reportedly will not be the case.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jackson will not be suspended for the hit on Thomas, and the NFL will continue to review it as part of the standard discipline process.
This likely means that he will receive just a fine for the hit, which he also received in Week 1 after the hit on Meyers.
Fans took notice of this news and believe that this disciplinary action should have been much more severe.
Bad decision by the NFL

He should be suspended cus this wasn’t a 1 time thing!! He did it multiple times!! There is no need for this wreckless in the NFL!!

He should be able to play when Logan can come back and play. That simple.

I’m disappointed in the NFL. This just shows how little they care about their players

With all of the talk in recent years about making the league safer, you would think that the NFL would want to crack down on repeat offenders of helmet-to-helmet hits.
But if this decision is any indication, it seems like the league is still slow to try and fix the league concussion problem.
