Despite being out of practice all week dealing with an ankle injury and finding himself on the injury list as questionable, Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will reportedly play in Week 2.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz was the first to report the news.
Hopkins will be on the field Sunday when the Titans take on the Los Angeles Chargers in what will be his home debut with the team.
Hopkins was listed as a non-participant on the Titans’ Wednesday and Thursday injury reports as he nursed an ankle injury.
The team will be thrilled to have him in the lineup as he led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in their Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Hopkins came to Tennessee as a free agent this offseason after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals. The 27th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Clemson spent his first seven seasons playing for the Houston Texans before he was traded to the Cardinals in 2020. The four-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl selection entered the 2023 season first in receptions (853), first in first down receptions (594), second in receiving yards (11,298), and fourth in receiving touchdowns (71) since entering the NFL in 2013.
The news that Hopkins will play this weekend certainly garnered some big reactions.
