The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2024 NFL season with perhaps the most pressure of any team in the league.
The Cowboys haven’t made it to the conference championship or farther since 1995 despite 12 playoff appearances since then. And the team has yet to come to terms on a contract extension with quarterback Dak Prescott despite months of reported negotiations.
It remains to be seen if Prescott will go into the season without an extension or if the sides will reach a deal. But a photo posted on social media on Wednesday, along with a report from Thursday, may have thrown a wrench into things.
On Wednesday, an X user posted a picture of Prescott in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, wearing what appeared to be a walking boot on his right foot.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer on Thursday, Prescott recently suffered a minor right foot sprain that temporarily required a walking boot. A source told Archer that Prescott is no longer wearing the boot, and his status for training camp later this month isn’t in jeopardy.
Either way, fans on social media had a lot to say about the injury scare.
