It has been a rough training camp thus far for star cornerback Trevon Diggs, who has reportedly decided to deactivate his Twitter account after a number of viral videos have emerged out of the Dallas Cowboys training camp.
These videos show Diggs getting burnt during practice by a number of largely unknown Cowboys receivers, including former fifth-round draft pick Simi Fehoko and journeyman wide receiver James Washington.
Diggs is one of the most polarizing players in all of football, recording a league-high 11 interceptions last season while also allowing the most receiving yards of any cornerback in the NFL last year.
He has always been a heavily controversial player for these stats alone, with many saying that he is an elite level player while others call him extremely overrated.
With the increase of social media coverage around the NFL over the years, there are clips of nearly every player’s mishaps, and Diggs has chosen to remove himself from all of that noise by deleting his Twitter account.
Surprisingly, many around the NFL world feel bad for Diggs that he has to go to those lengths to avoid the constant criticism that has come his way.
Getting burnt at practice really shouldn’t be a big deal, but it appears that all the criticism surrounding him may finally be getting to his head, which could certainly be a debilitating factor when it comes to his performance on the field next season.
