Odell Beckham Jr. is still a free agent and is still very sought after. The former Pro Bowl wide receiver and Super Bowl Champion tore his ACL during the Super Bowl earlier this February. Despite that, he’s made it very clear that he wants to play. Several teams have been linked to Odell, including his first team, the New York Giants. But one team the Giants know very well has reportedly entered the Odell Beckham Jr. Sweepstakes.
The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly interested in signing the star receiver. NFL insider Ian Rapoport said the team “Will be in it for Odell Beckham Jr.” in a tweet Monday.
The rumor got nearly all the way up the ladder for the Cowboys. Head coach Mike McCarthy addressed the rumors that the team was interested in signing Beckham during media availability on Monday.
“Mike McCarthy didn’t dispute Cowboys interest in Odell Beckham,” tweeted longtime Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr. He continued, “He said he has always been a big fan of Odell Beckham. Heard nothing but great things about him.” McCarthy went on to add though that conversations about Beckham Jr. were “for the future” and that right now, “they’re focused” on their guys.
Until Odell is signed, it’s really anybody’s guess where he lands. But the Cowboy coach didn’t do too much to dispel any of the rumors around him. Only time will tell to see if there’s actually substance to that.
