The Washington Commanders are looking to get back to the NFC Championship behind the electric play of young quarterback Jayden Daniels. This time they’re hoping to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl.
On their way to what they hope is a deep, sustained playoff run, the Commanders have decided to honor their past with some alternate throwback uniforms in the 2025 season.
“Weaving past and present We’re adding back the Super Bowl Era threads to our uniform rotation,” the Commanders said from their official Twitter account along with a photo of their new threads.
Fans reacted to the throwbacks on social media.
“The insistence on ‘weaving’ Dan Snyder’s taco holder W into the classic Redskins uniforms is bizarre to me. I’m glad they’re moving towards something more recognizable. Dan’s W on that uniform is like walking around with a poop skid on the outside of your favorite Jean,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“1 step closer. Bring them back full time with the correct logo and name and we will finally be back to reality,” one fan added.
“Washington gotta make these the full-time uniforms after this season,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Commanders ever return to their classic threads permanently.
