If you happened to have Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor in your fantasy football lineup on Sunday, congratulations are in order. The second-year running back had himself a day, rushing for over 150 yards and four touchdowns while also grabbing another touchdown as the Colts decimated the flailing Buffalo Bills. He’s certainly making this into a routine.
Taylor got things cooking early for Indy with a four-yard touchdown in which he bullied his way through the Buffalo defense.
After the Bills knotted things up, Taylor scored again, catching a pass and somehow finding his way through half the Bills defense to get to the endzone.
From there he helped cap another scoring drive with a two-yard touchdown dive to go up 21-7.
Midway through the third quarter, he worked his way through the Bills defense once more on a 1o-yard scoring scamper to put the Colts up 31-7.
And just when you thought he might be done, Taylor scored his fifth touchdown on the day (still in the third quarter).
That one also made him the first player in Colts history with five or more scrimmage touchdowns in a game. Oh and Taylor became the first running back in the league to cross the 1,000-yard mark this season as well.
The game itself is out of reach but that doesn’t mean Taylor might not add even more to his totals. We’ll update accordingly if and when he scores another touchdown or does something else amazing. In the meantime, the word is out about Taylor and everyone is jumping on the hype train.
Jonathan Taylor says hello to the MVP race.
