Colin Cowherd has had a bad month talking about NFL quarterbacks.
He had his second huge brain freeze in two weeks on Tuesday, talking about quarterback Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“I don’t see Geno holding up the AFC championship trophy over a [Patrick] Mahomes or [Joe] Burrow,” Cowherd said.
As many sports fans quickly pointed out, that definitely won’t happen, because Smith and the Seahawks play in the NFC.
This is the second notable mistake for Cowherd involving quarterbacks in two weeks. Earlier in August, he rated NFL quarterbacks by tiers, and his category of “Quarterbacks Who Can’t Win Super Bowls” included Dwayne Haskins.
Haskins died in a traffic accident in 2022.
In all fairness, it’s easy to see how Cowherd made his mistake Tuesday. The Seahawks played their first 26 seasons in the AFC before moving to the NFC in 2002. Yet NFL fans weren’t about to let Cowherd off easy on this one.
