Many fans feel that Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who, in an unprecedented slide in the NFL draft, fell to the fifth round after being projected as a top 10 pick, hasn’t gotten a fair shake since going pro.
Some believe that even as a rookie with the Browns, Sanders isn’t being given a real opportunity to compete for Cleveland’s starting quarterback job. However, 92.3 The Fan host Ken Carman is not in that group.
“They are doing everything they can to provide the fairest shot possible for him,” Carman said in a rant on his show, according to Awful Announcing. “I will take it to my grave, whether it’s in the next minute, the next 30 minutes, or the next 30 years, I will take it to my grave and say it right to St. Peter’s face: They are doing nothing to try to break a quarterback.
“They’re doing nothing to try to break Shedeur Sanders. Especially Shedeur Sanders. For anybody out there who is not a real brown fans who might be listening to this, I’m telling you right now, shaking as hard as I can, they are not doing anything to try to sabotage, or try to break Shedeur Sanders or to not be fair to Shedeur Sanders.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Just because you say it loud doesn’t mean what you are saying it’s true. We can all see that Shedeur is the better QB than Gabriel, yet they are keeping on the sidelines for some reason and now everyone sees it!” one person wrote on Twitter.
“They want to prove they were right picking Dillion over shedeur. Why do you think DG is getting reps so much reps even with the first team, when he struggled. If this was a fair competition, DG and SS would be getting equal reps,” another person added.
“You can’t seriously think shedeur is getting a fair chance. Whatever the reason is. Most browns reporters don’t even understand either,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Sanders performs in the preseason.
