Cleveland Browns

Head coach Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns are gearing up for what they’re hoping is a bounce-back season after finishing last year with only three wins. Unfortunately for the Browns, last year’s opening week starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, is still out as he works his way back from an Achilles injury that ended his campaign early last season.

The Browns responded by loading up at the position this offseason to find Watson’s replacement, including the signing of veteran quarterback and former Pro Bowler Joe Flacco, who won comeback player of the year with the organization a couple of years ago.

Flacco wasn’t the only Pro Bowler the Browns worked with this offseason, either. Tyler Huntley was brought in as the Browns dealt with injuries at the position throughout training camp.

However, Cleveland has opted to let one of the former Pro Bowlers go, per one league insider.

“Browns are releasing quarterback Tyler Huntley, per source. Cleveland has been planning to keep its other four QBs — Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders — on its 53-man roster,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“So let me get this straight, you gave this guy the 2 minute drill just to cut him? A vet? When you could have let a rookie experience that and learn from it? You got it,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“When I said he coming in as a camp body… some of y’all got really hurt. I tried to tell you,” someone else added.

“You pulled shedeur off the off the field during 2 minute drill to put in a guy you knew you were cutting the next day. And you want us to believe you care about qb development,” one fan added.

It’l be interesting to see if Huntley lands with another team.
