The Philadelphia Eagles are the reigning Super Bowl champions after they completely dismantled the Kansas City Chiefs to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Philadelphia for the second time in franchise history.
Shockingly, the Eagles still made the tough decision to move on from a number of big names this offseason. Now, one of those players is discussing just why he believes the franchise made the decision to part ways.
“Scared of a competitor. Simple as that. You can’t program a dawg. You want me to be a leader and outspoken, but then you want me to sit back. There’s nowhere been a locker room where I had a single issue with a teammate,” safety CJ Gardner-Johnson said.
Fans reacted to the bold statement on social media.
“That team is still loaded with dawgs, bruh. What they’re scared of is a thin-skinned troublemaker in their lockerroom. And you literally had a problem with Slay when he mentioned Blankenship being one of the leaders of the secondary. Grow up,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The Eagles just won a Super Bowl. Why would they be scared of a competitor?” one fan wanted to know.
“Dawg thinks he’s bigger than the program, Bozo,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Eagles go on to regret trading Gardner-Johnson.
