The Las Vegas Raiders are entering thier first season with legendary coach Pete Carroll serving as the head coach. However, Carroll isn’t the only big-ticket coach that the Raiders brought in this offseason.
This will also be the franchise’s first season with Chip Kelly as the team’s offensive coordinator. Fans were abruptly reminded who the head coach would be when it was revealed that Kelly wanted Heisman trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty, one of the Raiders’ rookies, to immediately change his stance in the backfield.
Now, Kelly is sounding off about the change he wants made to Jeanty’s approach.
“It literally is about three inches, so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” Kelly said, according to Bleacher Report Gridiron.
Fans reacted to the statement on social media.
“Never liked Chip Kelly… and this is just another stupid thing he’s doing to ‘show he’s boss’… there’s tons of footage showing what Jeanty does before the snap isn’t hindering his production… this clown making headlines for the wrong reasons… AS USUAL,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“I can assure you when the season starts the stance won’t be the topic of discussion. It will be how he is roasting defenders up and down the field and can’t be stopped,” one fan added.
“If it’s not a big deal why have him change it,” someone else wanted to know.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Raiders’ season goes with all of the new personalities in the building.
