The Kansas City Chiefs failed to become the first franchise in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls after they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in embarassing fashion.
The would-be streak started in Super Bowl LVII, when the Chiefs defeated the same Eagles franchise 38-35. Now, in an effort to win their third title in four years, the Eagles have made the shocking decision to move on from one of the key pieces of their Super Bowl LVII-winning team, according to one prominent league insider.
“Another trade is now official: 49ers have acquired WR Skyy Moore and a seventh-round pick in 2027 from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2027,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Twitter.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Pick swap between 49ers and Chiefs looks like a market inefficiency play. Skyy Moore’s potential in Shanahan’s system could be undervalued—bet the 49ers +1.5 in their next matchup. Shanahan turns mid-tier WRs into playmakers better than anyone,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Niners squeezing value out of the Chiefs again. Moore’s punt return TD last week showed the explosiveness, but KC couldn’t wait on his development with Watson and Rice ahead. Smart move by Lynch getting a future asset bump in the pick swap too,” someone else added.
“I liked Skyy coming out of college, but he has been really disappointing,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Moore does with the Niners.
