The Kansas City Chiefs are determined to get back to the Super Bowl after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in embarrassing fashion in Super Bowl LIX last February. Unfortunately, it appears Kansas City may be without one of its most important pieces at some point during the upcoming season as he serves a suspension.
“ESPN sources: A Dallas County judge just sentenced Chiefs WR Rashee Rice to five years probation and 30 days of jail time that can be served during those five years stemming for his role in a multi-car crash in Dallas during the 2024 offseason. Now that the judge has ruled, the NFL can expedite its disciplinary process and Rice is likely to receive a multi-game suspension,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Schefter then followed up on when a possible suspension could take place.
“With today’s ruling from a Dallas County judge, the expectation now is that Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will serve his suspension during this upcoming season.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Not even suspended by the NFL, I get its the Chiefs and its sports ‘entertainment’ but they at least have to try and make it look not rigged,” one fan added.
“Wild hes just now getting punished for an incident that happened in March of 2024 He played an entire season (till he was hurt) and then got punished a week before the following training camp…does no one else find that weird,” one fan added.
“People get more time than that shoplifting a loaf of bread and peanut butter. Crazy!” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how long Rice will be suspended for.
