Sunday’s game between the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Chargers was a goldmine for offensive production that left many fantasy football players pleased with the majority of players in the game.
Both offenses had no issues moving the ball down the field. Both Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert had over 300 yards passing and multiple touchdown passes.
This led to some standout receivers on both teams having massive games. Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen finished the game with 11 receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns. And Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown ended up recording eight receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Running backs for both teams also thrived. The Lions had two running backs, Jahmir Gibbs and David Montgomery, who found the endzone.
Chargers star Austin Ekeler also ended up getting in the endzone along with recording 100 total yards from scrimmage in the game.
It was a back-and-forth shootout between these two high-profile offenses. Ultimately, it was the Lions who came out on top with the victory. Lions kicker Riley Patterson iced the game with a 41-yard field goal as time expired to secure a 41-38 victory.
In total, there were ten players combined in this game that ended up scoring double-digit fantasy points in PPR (point-per-reception) formats.
Fans took notice of the offensive onslaught in this game and were extremely pleased with several players’ fantasy scores.
It shouldn’t be all that much of a surprise that this game was such an offensive showcase for both teams. The over/under betting line for this game coming in was set at 48.5 on the majority of sportsbooks, the highest of the week by far.
It’s safe to say that this game certainly delivered both as a highly entertaining game and as a true goldmine in fantasy football.
