The NFL world got some shocking news on Wednesday when it was revealed that controversial Washington Commanders team owner Dan Snyder was moving towards selling the team as the organization faces a criminal investigation and is in the midst of a league investigation for allegations of sexual harassment, misogyny, and financial fraud. The move is good news for Commanders fans and the rest of the NFL world, and it looks like a potential buyer has already emerged.

According to Kamaron Leach of Bloomberg, media mogul Byron Allen is set to make a bid to buy the Washington Commanders.

“#scoop: media mogul Byron Allen (@realbyronallen) is said to be readying a bid for Dan Snyder’s Washington
@Commanders in what would be his second attempt this year to buy an NFL team,

Allen is the owner of Entertainment Studios, which is the parent company of the Weather Channel. He previously made a bid to purchase the Denver Broncos earlier this year before a group led by Robert Walton – the owner of Walmart – ultimately won the bid.

Whether he wins the bid or not, it’s pretty big news in the league and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

If Allen wins the bid, he will become the first Black majority owner in NFL history.
