Brett Favre is the kind of quarterback who will invite comparisons for the rest of his life. The Hall-of-Famer will probably always be asked who he thinks his heir apparent is or who he considers the next great quarterback.
Joe Burrow came out of LSU with sky-high expectations. The Heisman Trophy winner was selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. In his first season, it all came crashing down when he tore both his MCL and ACL in his left knee in Week 11. However, he has not only recovered but has turned his second season into a stellar performance that proves he’s worth the hype.
Seven games into the season, Burrow has 1,956 yards passing with 17 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. And he recently said that he and the Bengals “aren’t satisfied” with their 5-2 start.
Favre recently appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio and was asked about Burrow, for whom he had nothing but effusive praise.
"The sky's the limit for this guy."

“Joe Burrow had a tremendous year a couple years ago at LSU,” said Favre. “Aside from a few injuries he’s had, he’s played pretty much like he did that year. The guy’s a heck of a quarterback. He’s got some weapons, and they’re only going to get better. He’s just a winner. I think that gets overlooked when you talk about the intangibles a guy has.”
Burrow has a ways to go to matching what Favre did on the field, but he’s certainly off to a solid start.
