A couple days after former Buffalo Bills GM Doug Whaley speculated that the Bills would have to trade Stefon Diggs, Diggs and the Bills have reportedly come to a contract extension that would keep Diggs in Buffalo for the next six years.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Diggs is set to receive $104 million with the four-year extension which includes $70 million in guarantees. For the 28-year-old Diggs, he’ll be spending his prime years in Buffalo and as Schefter noted, there’s intent from the player and the team for Diggs to retire as a Bill.
Another mega deal: Bills reached agreement with WR Stefon Diggs on a 4-year, $104 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN. Deal ties Diggs to Buffalo for six more years, at $124.1M, with the intent from both sides to have him retire in Buffalo. pic.twitter.com/ptSQ3eE54D

Diggs’ extension comes as a couple other big time receivers got paid. Davante Adams picked up a five-year deal that had $65 million guaranteed while Tyreek Hill got $75 million guaranteed for four years. The difference is that Adams and Hill had to be traded in order to get paid while Diggs is able to stay put in Buffalo and continue making plays with Josh Allen.
The EXPLODING WR market this offseason:
Davante Adams: 5-years, $141.25M ($65M guaranteed)
Tyreek Hill: 4-years, $120M ($75M guaranteed)
Stefon Diggs: 4-years, $104M ($70M guaranteed)— Field Yates (@FieldYates) April 6, 2022
