Derek Carr missed only a few plays of Sunday’s game against the Panthers after his finger bended in a very unnatural, gruesome way following a botched snap.
In case it seems crazy that Carr returned despite his finger being disfigured, Bill Romanowski is here to remind you that true craziness is not playing football with a dislocated finger, but chopping that finger off altogether.
But hey, when you’re a four-time Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowler, you do what you gotta do. Then again, when you get sued for $3.4 million because you crushed your teammate’s eye socket with a punch, maybe you should learn to tone it down.
Needless to say, Carr’s finger did not appear to get into his head. He tossed a 12-yard touchdown and subsequent two-point conversion to tie the game 32-32 in the fourth quarter, then led a game-winning field goal drive to secure Oakland a win against the defending NFC champs.
