It’s not much of a secret that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick doesn’t pay much attention to anything besides coaching his team, and that includes fantasy football. He made that point very clear to a 14-year-old kid reporter during his press conference on Thursday morning.

“My friends and I watch a lot of football, more than our moms would like, and we’re obsessed with fantasy football,” the kid reporter said. “Even though you don’t like, you don’t play, do you think it’s good or bad for the NFL?”

As you might imagine, the six-time Super Bowl champion head coach did not offer a lot of insight. Belichick gave an extremely blunt response to the question, telling the 14-year-old that “fantasy football doesn’t mean anything to me.”

“Yeah, honestly, I don’t really have any opinion on that because fantasy football doesn’t mean anything to me,” Belichick responded. “We’re just trying to win games out here, so I don’t know who’s hot, who’s not, who wins, who doesn’t. I don’t really care about that. I just care about whether we win. So, yeah, have fun with that!”

To be fair, Belichick was not completely robotic in his response to the kid – he did crack a smile after he finished. But the message was still clear – don’t ask him for fantasy football advice.
