Legendary head coach Bill Belichick isn’t coaching in the NFL in 2024. But he does plan to do something. What that something is? Belichick is writing a book!
On Friday, The Athletic’s veteran sports media reporter Andrew Marchand reported that the former six-time Super Bowl champion coach would author a book.
After the story went out, questions began to be asked. Awful Announcing suggested one good one in particular: What will it be about?
The timing of this is interesting. Lately, several ex-New England Patriots stars have come out in droves to criticize the well-received Dynasty: The New England Patriots documentary on Apple TV+.
Owner Robert Kraft also joined former players Rodney Harrison, Devin McCourty, Matthew Slater, and Julian Edelman in criticizing the documentary. Some felt duped, others wanted more positivity, and others weren’t thrilled with portrayals or people who were interviewed.
Now, Belichick is emerging with a book but we’re not quite sure what it’ll be about. Giving his side to any of the fascinating stories that developed in New England from 2000 onward would be a heck of a read. But with several other Patriots crowing on, is that what we can expect? Or can we expect something different?
Questions remain but fascination was present all day online. The NFL world had much to say about Bill Belichick and this upcoming book.
