The Baltimore Ravens and two-time league MVP Lamar Jackson are eager to prove that they have what it takes to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl. Jackson has yet to make it beyond the AFC Championship thus far in his career, but fans and pundits alike believe this year’s Ravens team is talented enough on paper to go the distance.

Unfortunately, one key member of the Ravens offense, and one of Jackson’s most reliable targets last season, went down with an injury on Tuesday, and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that the injury will cost the tight end some time, according to one prominent league insider.

“Ravens HC John Harbaugh told reporters that TE Isaiah Likely rolled his ankle and is now expected to miss a few weeks,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Even if he has to miss the season opener, I rather him come back 100% healthy and hopefully stay that way the whole season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Hope he gets back healthy soon. He is a valuable asset to this offense,” another fan added.

“Wild to me that moto dudes will boot up with broken bones and race but professional football players sit out for lesser stuff. All while making 10x or more the salary of a moto guy,” someeone else wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see when Likely can make his return to the field.
