James Harrison has played in the NFL for 12 seasons and is a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl Champion. What’s led him to so much success is partially his insane workouts.

The linebacker recently posted a video on his Instagram showing that he’s been playing volleyball with a medicine ball. That’s right, a medicine ball.

Harrison refers to the game as “Danney ball” and it was invented by trainer Ian Danney. It’s a two-on-two game that involves throwing a 10-pound medicine ball back-and-forth in the sand. Harrison was in the news for playing it last year as well.

On top of that, Harrison and his teammates aren’t the only players to use the volleyball style game as a training exercise.

Sand is already tough to run around in, but definitely harder to move in when it’s 100+ degrees out and you’re throwing a 10 pound medicine ball back-and-forth. However, Harrison does enjoy positing videos of himself working out and his workouts indicate “Danney Ball” may be one of the easier things he does.
