The Miami Dolphins feel they have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Tua Tagovailoa when he is healthy and available. However, many fans and pundits around the league seem to have more criticisms than praises for Tagovailoa.
Now, though, it seems like the tide of public perception may finally be turning in Tagovailoa’s favor.
“They literally cannot operate the offense when he is not out there, and then they are a top-10 offense when he is. I don’t even like watching him play, but at this point, I can’t say you are not that guy,” an anonymous general manager in the league said, according to The Athletic’s Mike Sando.
Fans reacted to the statement on social media.
“I mean we seen it over and over they can’t Remember that titans game last year that game was horrible for offense I mean everyone calls Tua mid but they need him But also might be bc of McDaniels system and him not being able to adjust,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“He’s basically Chad Pennington with the NYJ: accurate QB who wins and elevates the team when healthy. But hurt too often. I hope has a great year,” another fan added.
“I’m not saying that Tua is bad, but put a good QB there and they are going to bring the same outcome,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see what Tagovailoa and the Dolphins can accomplish this season.
