After looking pretty washed up for two seasons, Adrian Peterson looks very explosive again as a running back in 2018 for the Washington Redskins.
The metrics back that up:
And he’s certainly passing the eye test.
Peterson ran for a 90-yard touchdown in the first half of Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 90-yard touchdown is the longest run of Peterson’s career.
And at 33 years old (ancient in running back years), he’s the oldest player in NFL history to have a rushing touchdown of at least 90 yards.
The Redskins (7-5) already had lost starting quarteback Alex Smith to a devastating season-ending injury, and they lost No. 2 quarterback Colt McCoy to a season-ending fractured fibula on Monday night.
Brutal. Journeyman Mark Sanchez is now the Washington quarterback, and he hadn’t thrown a pass in an NFL game since 2016.
So, expect to see much, much more of Peterson and the Washington run game going forward.
