Superstar NFL wide receiver Adam Thielen spent the first nine years of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2013. But now, he’s with the Carolina Panthers preparing to take on the Minnesota Vikings. And he admits that it’s a little bit weird to get ready to play his former team.
Adam Thielen was released by the Minnesota Vikings this offseason in a move that helped the team’s salary cap situation. Following the departure from the team, Thielen signed with the Carolina Panthers. And now, for the first time, he’ll be facing off against the team he called home the first nine years of his career.
“It’s already honestly a little weird watching tape,” Thielen said according to Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “It’s just crazy to be game planning against guys that were my teammates for a long time.”
Thielen also admitted that there’s “a little bit” of motivation heading into the game as he has a chance to prove to the Vikings that they should have kept him on the roster.
We’ll have to see how he performs against his former team when they meet on Sunday afternoon.
