The Pittsburgh Steelers are rolling with four-time MVP winner Aaron Rodgers as the team’s starting quarterback this season. Rodgers brings loads of experience to the locker room, which he hopes will help the team unlock in young wide receiver Roman Wilson.

“I need to get Roman out of his own head a bit. He cares so much about whether it’s my approval or he’s doing it right. He’s just got to trust himself because he’s so damn talented,” Rodgers said about Wilson earlier in the offseason.

Now, Rodgers is discussing Wilson again, as he and the Steelers try to get the young wideout to be more consistent.

“We’re going to coach him hard. He’s a great talent, but that can make the difference. We’re going to hold him to a standard of excellence. He has a chance to be a big-time talent in the league,” Rodgers said about Wilson, per Nick Farabaugh.

Fans reacted to Rodgers’ comments on social media.

“Just at first glance observing the different leadership qualities between Arod and Russ. Russ: I think he’s a decent leader but was just way too positive when accountability was needed. Arod: Isn’t afraid to callout BS and isn’t afraid to knock a guy down & build them back up,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Wilson is a diamond in the rough, sky’s the limit for that kid!” another fan added.

“Unfortunately, Tomlin is better known for taking great talent and making it worse than the other way around,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Wilson can put it all together this season.
