The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost both of their starting quarterbacks from the 2024 season, with both landing in the Big Apple. Justin Fields elected to sign with the New York Jets, and ironically, Russell Wilson signed with the New York Giants after the Steelers indicated that they preferred to bring back Fields.
Now, the NFL draft and training camp are just around the corner, and the Steelers still don’t know who will be under center for Week One next season. While they may address the hole at the position in the draft, Pittsburgh has been heavily linked to veteran Aaron Rodgers throughout the offseason.
Unfortunately for Rodgers, who has taken his time with deciding whether to sign or to retire, it appears the Steelers have had enough of waiting on the four-time MVP winner and surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer to make up his mind.
“The #Steelers are reportedly losing PATIENCE with Aaron Rodgers,” reported NFL Rumors over the weekend.
Fans reacted to the shocking development on social media.
“All they have to do is trade Tomlin, Pickens and watt for multiple first round picks and will be competitive and actually win playoff games, ” one fan wrote on Twitter/.
“The Steelers need to back away from never in my life have I disliked an NFL player more than him,” one Steelers fan wrote on Twitter.
“Rodgers is obnoxious at this point, he’s past his prime! He isn’t Tom Brady! Who does this dude think he is?” someone else wanted to know.
It’ll be interesting to see how much longer the Steelers are willing to tolerate Rodgers.
