Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers loves to ridicule members of the media and public for harping on the things he says but also loves going out of his way to say the things that will invariably get people to react in the first place. And that cycle continued on Thursday during his latest appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
Rodgers discussed a wide variety of topics on Tuesday, including the controversy surrounding his win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and his thoughts on the retirement of Tom Brady. When it came to thoughts on his own potential retirement this year, Rodgers remained coy but also added that he’s going to be doing some thinking in a very unique way.
“I’m still in the art of contemplation about my future,” Rodgers said. “That’s why I think it’s going to be important to get through this week and then to take my isolation retreat and just be able to contemplate all things my future and then make a decision that I feel like is best for me moving forward and the highest interest of my happiness and then move forward.
“It’s four nights of complete darkness,” Rodgers said. “It’s a darkness retreat. I’ve had a number of friends who have done it and have had some profound experiences and it’s been something that’s been on my radar for a few years now.”
Naturally, the NFL world had some thoughts on Rodgers and his “darkness retreat” plans.

Who knows what gems await us when Rodgers returns from his retreat, complete with all of the answers to the mysteries of the universe, including whether or not he wants to play for the New York Jets.
