Green Bay Packers fans are waiting with bated breathe for the news that Aaron Rodgers is coming back next season. There’s been much speculation about whether or not the two-time defending NFL MVP will return following a wild season or if he’ll want to start fresh someplace else.
Rodgers hasn’t been helping much in that regard as he’s been pretty quiet about his plans, other than saying when the season ended that he would come to a decision soon. In the meantime, there’s been a lot of speculation about his plans, his love life, and what else the outspoken free-thinker might say next.
Monday night, Rodgers took to Instagram to post a series of photos along with the #MondayNightGratitude hashtag that was about his appreciation for former girlfriend Shailene Woodley as well as his current/former Packers coaches and teammates.
“To the men I got to share the QB room with everyday,” Rodgers wrote, “you guys made every day so much fun and I’m so thankful for the daily laughs and stress relief you brought me every week of the year.”
“I loved every moment we got to spend together this year,” Rodgers says of playing with some of his teammates. “Your love and support was overwhelming, and I cherish the friendships I have with each of you.”
He then mentions “past and current” teammates, saying “You are the icing on the beautiful cake we call our job; football.
“The friendships that we have will transcend our collective time in this game and I am so thankful for the role that each of you have played in making my life that much better. I love you guys, and I cherish the memories we’ve made.”
The cryptic message, especially when it came to the way he discussed his teammates, is leading some people to see it as a kind of goodbye. However, it’s very unclear how much of that is intentional and how much of that is just people seeing what they want to see. Then again, including a photo in which he is not present standing alongside his Packers teammates when he’s in all the other photos in the carousel feels about as deliberate as you can get.
Leave it to Aaron Rodgers to be purposefully vague in his messaging at a time when people want to know about his situation. Whether the Packers QB was just trying to share some honest feelings or is commanding attention on purpose, the football world certainly had a lot to say about the posts on social media Monday evening.
Aaron Rodgers Instagram post clearly indicates he's either going to play next year, demand a trade or retire.

Many people also pointed out that Pat McAfee teased a big guest on his show Tuesday and Rodgers appeared on most Tuesdays during the NFL season.
It feels like Rodgers will be breaking major news tomorrow on the Pat McAfee show.

All signs seem to point to Rodgers making some kind of announcement tomorrow. But then again maybe he won’t say anything. Who the heck knows with this guy, really.
