The Pittsburgh Steelers’ wait paid off when four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers finally signed on with the franchise just in time for mandatory minicamp. The surefire future first-ballot Hall of Famer has stated that he sees this as most likely being his last season in the NFL, but it may be best not to take everything Rodgers says at face value.
According to popular Barstool Sports personality PFT Commenter, Rodgers has been known to fib before.
“I have a little story to tell you about Aaron,” said PFT, according to Awful Announcing. “So he was at the golf tournament this weekend. Big Cat had been texting him and ran into him. And Aaron said, ‘Oh yeah, my bad, I changed my phone number.’ And so Big Cat is like, ‘Okay cool, well I’ll just hit you up on that new one.’
“He got Aaron’s new phone number from a friend. The phone number was the exact same phone number that Big Cat had been texting. And Aaron had just lied to him by saying he had changed his number. That’s why he hadn’t gotten back in touch with him.”
PFT then explained how he gave Rodgers’ number to one of his colleagues at Barstool, Jersey Jerry, thinking it was the deactivated number, but it was in fact still Rodgers’ active number.
“When Big Cat told me ‘Hey, the reason why we haven’t been in touch with Aaron is because he changed his phone number,’ I thought it would be funny to then at that point send Aaron’s deactivated number to our good friend Jersey Jerry.
“And then I find out that it’s actually still his number. And now, through this course of events, Jersey Jerry has Aaron Rodgers’ actual phone number. But, you know what, that’s what Aaron Rodgers gets for lying about changing his number.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Rodgers has learned his lesson.
