While all the attention was on Aaron Rodgers all week long, it turns out the Green Bay Packers player we should have been noticing is Aaron Jones. The 26-year-old running back put on a clinic during Monday Night Football, scoring four total touchdowns in Green Bay’s 35-17 win over the Detroit Lions.
Jones finished the day with 67 yards rushing and one rushing touchdown to go with 43 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions. While Rodgers certainly seemed like he had something to prove in his four-touchdown evening, it wouldn’t have happened with Jones scampering all over the field for the scores.
It was the kind of evening where you were either supremely glad to have Aaron Jones on your fantasy football roster or extremely upset to be playing against a team with him.
It was quite a memorable night for the fifth-year player out of UTEP. But after the game, Jones shared a rather unfortunate and heartbreaking anecdote. Aaron shared that he had been wearing a necklace with his father’s ashes inside it during the game but during one of his touchdowns it must have come off.
As Jones noted, losing it in the endzone was probably the best place to lose it since the grounds crew will be all over that area getting it ready for the next game.
“He’d be happy. He was like ‘If you lose it anywhere, lose it in the end zone,'” said Jones. “The grounds crew is looking for it.”
Sports fans and media members were immediately enraptured with the hope that the necklace would be recovered so that Jones can truly remember this important night fondly.
I….need to know if he found it https://t.co/gQYLVNGCbL

Aaron Jones says he wears a necklace with a little black football that carries his Dad's ashes in it. Lost it in the end zone, but the grounds crew is looking for it as we speak

Nobody on the grounds crew is allowed to leave until they find Aaron Jones necklace.
