Villanova quarterback Daniel Smith made a hard-to-believe touchdown pass in Saturday’s game against Delaware. And it actually came at a crucial moment of the game.
The Wildcats trailed 27-13 and had 3rd-and-Goal at the one-yard line with just over three minutes remaining, when Smith rolled out and appeared to be sacked. However, a tumbling Smith somehow got rid of the ball and flung it into the end zone… right into the hands of tight end Charlie Gilroy for a Villanova touchdown.
It’s difficult to properly describe how crazy this play is. Just see it for yourself:
Amazing. Delaware was still able to hang on for a 27-20 victory, but Villanova has the highlight of the spring FCS season (and it may be as incredible as any play we see in college football all year).
